Student Support

The IPS student must demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow and apply strategies in the classroom and beyond.

Setting Students Up for Success

Our school-year programs will accommodate small cohorts so that we can maximize our efforts to achieve positive outcomes for our students. Read below about our multi-faceted curriculum that will help prepare our students for life beyond the classroom.

Appropriate Placement
Students’ strengths and challenges will be assessed in a formal application process with teacher references, questionnaires, and an interview to assess their interest in pursuing training. They must demonstrate a commitment to completing the program if accepted.

Differentiated Curriculum
Trade skills will be taught by professional tradespeople and created so students can choose 1- or 2-year programs of study in order to find jobs upon graduation. Training will be modified as needed and paced for each student’s needs.

Help from Trained Professionals
Students will work with licensed therapists/educators with significant experience in post-secondary/transition age issues. IPS will help foster hard skill and soft skill development and social skills in the workplace.

Life Skills
Our curriculum will include:

  • Health and Fitness Instruction
  • Anxiety Reduction Strategies
  • Financial Education
  • Sexuality Education

Job Placement Assistance
Students will create portfolios, gain exposure to variety of jobs/opportunities and leverage company partners to find a student a post-graduation internship, apprenticeship, part-time or full-time jobs.
